Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Fundamentals of Economic Analysis. PhD in Economics, Master in Economic Analysis and MBA. Professor of Microeconomics, Economic Analysis of Financial Markets and Financial Risk Valuation, at undergraduate and master’s degree level.
Study of risk in capital markets and the dependency relationship between financial and energy markets. Within these areas, he focuses on the analysis of the influence of oil prices on the valuation of financial assets and exchange rates, systemic risk in financial markets and the systemic effects of the oil market on renewable energy markets. His most recent research interests include the analysis of the impact of climate risk on financial and energy markets, on financial stability and on investment decisions.

He has received various national and international research awards, participated in knowledge transfer activities for the private sector, served as principal investigator on several research projects, acted as an evaluator for national and international research agencies, and is a member of the editorial board of several international economic research journals.
Since April 2024, when he was appointed Secretary General of the Economic Coordination Office of the Presidency of the Xunta de Galicia, he has been on special service at the USC.
