Today, in the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies of the University of Santiago de Compostela, the opening of the Master’s Program in Economics and the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Economic Analysis and Business Strategy (PDIAEE) was held. The opening ceremony was held by Professors Carlos Hervés and María Loureiro, director and scientific director of ECOBAS and coordinators of the doctoral program in Vigo and Santiago de Compostela, and the coordinator of the master’s degree at the University of A Coruña, María Alló, who welcomed the students and commented on some of the most relevant issues about the graduate programs in this course.

The event featured a conference given by Javier Díaz Giménez, an outstanding researcher at the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra, and a seminar by Hugo del Valle-Inclán Cruces, a graduate student of the PhD program, who told the audience about his transition from PhD student to researcher at a relevant European Commission research center, the JRC in Seville, and presented the EUROMOD tool, used at that center for different types of studies.

To end the day, the coordinators of the Master in Economics, Eduardo Giménez, Ana Iglesias and María Alló, explained what they expect from the students this year and how they should face this new stage of their academic career.
