
More than twenty institutions participate in the first inter-institutional working table organized within the framework of the PASOS project
The working table aims to identify lines of action that respond to the challenges of the sectors linked to the Maritime Area.
The Marine Research Center (CIM) and Economics and Business Administration for Society (ECOBAS) of the University of Vigo, together with FUNDAMAR, organized in the framework of the PASOS project (Action Plan for the Promotion of Responsible Research and Innovation – RRI – in the Marine Area through the Social Economy Entities) the first inter-institutional working table aimed at establishing a dialogue between different entities of the administration world, research, business and civil society linked to the marine environment in which to expose the challenges of the sector from each perspective, and seek courses of action to reduce the existing gaps between them.
The event took place on the morning of Wednesday, April 27th, at the Faculty of Commerce of the University of Vigo, at its headquarters in Torrecedeira street. The event was presented by the Principal Researcher of the PASOS project at the University of Vigo, Mercedes Mareque, and was followed by presentations by María Caldeiro, FUNDAMAR’s president, and Mario Pansera, expert in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) at the University of Vigo.
The second part of the day was dedicated to the discussion in inter-institutional working groups, moderated by the PASOS project team, to establish a dialogue that tried to answer two main questions, always in relation to the maritime-fisheries field: “Where are we? Representatives of more than twenty representatives of different entities linked to the maritime sector participated in these working groups.
The PASOS project aims to contribute to the promotion of social economy as a strategy to face the challenges of the maritime sector, through the RRI. It is financed by the EUSUMO Network and developed by FUNDAMAR and the research centers of the University of Vigo, CIM ( Marine Research Center) and ECOBAS.
