Amaia Palencia, student of the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Economic Analysis and Business Strategy, wins the Alexandre Pedrós award.

The doctoral student wins the award in the thematic area of labor and gender economics with her work titled “Immigration, childcare and gender differences in the Spanish labor market”.

The Alexandre Pedrós award is organized by the Societat Econòmica Barcelonesa d’Amics del País and rewards attendees of the XXIX edition of the Public Economics Meeting under 40 years old. The competing papers are selected among the thematic areas in which Professor Pedrós centered his academic and professional activity: Fiscal Federalism, Autonomous and Local Finance, Taxation and Public Choice.

Amaia Palencia, who is preparing her doctoral thesis under the guidance of Professors Coral del Río and Olga Cantó, won this award jointly with Begoña Cabeza.
