EAERE Summer School 2026

Recent applications of AI in Environmental and Resource Economics

📍Santiago de Compostela 📅 June 6-12, 2026

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into environmental economics is emerging as one of the most transformative and promising developments for understanding and addressing the ecological challenges of the twenty-first century.

In a global landscape shaped by climate change, the energy transition, and the urgent need for sustainable natural resource management, AI-driven tools provide new capabilities to enhance analytical precision, uncover complex causal relationships, and design more effective environmental policies.

With this approach, the inter-university research centre in Economics and Business, ECOBAS, organises the EAERE Summer School 2026, a European-level initiative that, for the first time, will be hosted in Spain.

The programme will combine theoretical foundations, applied demonstrations, and practical experiences, enabling participants to understand not only the potential of these techniques but also their limitations and ethical implications.
