María Bastida Domínguez
María Bastida Domínguez is Full Professor of Business Organisation at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC), where she carries out her main teaching and research activity. She has been an affiliated researcher at the Inter-university Research Centre in Economics and Business for Society (ECOBAS) since April 2022.
She was awarded her PhD by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in 2003 with a thesis entitled “International assignments: antecedents and consequences of expatriate adjustment”, supervised by Dr Edelmira Neira Fontela.
Over the course of her career she has been a member of several specialised research groups, including RRHH (Human Resources and Performance) and POSMARK (People, Sustainable Organisations and Marketing), and she currently belongs to the PRAXIS group (Knowledge transfer for organisational decision-making).
Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, the social economy, corporate sustainability and the mainstreaming of a gender perspective in the economic and organisational field.
Principal investigator of the project “ES-FACTORY: A network of social-economy accelerators to launch and consolidate firms in new emerging activities in Galicia and Northern Portugal” (2023).
Director of GPC consolidation projects for the research group “PEOPLE, SUSTAINABLE ORGANISATIONS AND MARKETING — POSMARK” (2022).
Responsible for several grants awarded to partner organisations of the REDE EUSUMO network for the promotion of cooperativism and the social economy (2018, 2021 and 2023).

She takes an active part in international networks devoted to the study of business and of equality in the economic field.
Substantial contribution to several chapters of the Report on the social economy in Galicia (2023 and 2024 editions), published by CECOOP — Centre for Cooperative Studies of the USC.
Author of a range of reports and contracts for the Regional Secretariat for Equality and for the Galician Service for the Promotion of Equality between Men and Women, on topics such as gender-based occupational segregation, work-family balance and the barriers women face in accessing management positions.
She has supervised doctoral theses in her field: “The cooperative model as an organisation that fosters women’s participation in business management and entrepreneurship” (2022) and “A people management model oriented towards happiness at work” (2015).
She has a strong record of securing funding, having taken part in or led 17 funded actions since 2009, amounting to a total of close to €700,000.
