The Training Program in Strategic and Operative Management of Research Centers and Units of Excellence comes to an end
This morning took place at the headquarters of FEUGA in Santiago de Compostela the closing ceremony of the Training Program in Strategic (GESCI) and Operative (GOSCI) Management of Excellence Research Centers and Units, organized by the Xunta de Galicia Local Ministry of Education, Universities and Vocational Training, in collaboration with FEUGA. This event put the final point to the face-to-face activities of this project, which has been developing since September, and in which Directors and Managers from different Galician research centers and units have participated, among them the Head of ECOBAS, Carlos Hervés, and the Manager of the Group.
The event was opened by Julio E. Abalde, Rector of the University of A Coruña and president of FEUGA, who gave way to Lluis Rovira, Academic Coordinator of the program and director of the CERCA of Catalonia, and Dolores Pérez, deputy director of the CIQUS-USC and student of the GESCI modality. Both took stock of the program, each from their perspective, but coinciding with the success achieved in this first edition, and the importance of this kind of initiatives.
After this assessment, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy the presentation of Fernando P. Cossío, director of Ikerbasque, who explained the birth, development and management of this institution since its inception until now.
The event ended with the words of the Regional Minister for Education, Universities and Vocational Training, Carmen Pomar, who wanted to point out the importance of this activity, a pioneer in Spain, and encouraged the participants to put into practice the knowledge acquired during these months in order to bring Galician research centers and units to the highest level of excellence.
