The Cambodian delegation of the DOCKSIDE project visits the University of Vigo

The University of Vigo will collaborate with Cambodia, within the framework of the DOCKSIDE project, in the implementation of doctoral programs related to the management of the sea and marine resources.

The DOCKSIDE Project (DOCtoral Program in Khmer Universities Strengthening the International Development of Environmental and Maritime Research), co-funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Program, is led by the University of Nantes (France) and counts on the participation of various organizations and administrations of Cambodia and the Universities of Syddansk (Denmark) and Vigo, being a member of this node the ERENEA Group researcher, Manuel Varela.

The objective of this initiative is to improve collaboration in marine and environmental research among various Cambodian universities, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the country. The University of Vigo, due to its wide experience in the scientific as well as the economic and legal field, will be in charge of guiding the Asian country in the implementation of doctoral programs of the marine environment. A delegation of the Cambodian node has been since last Saturday visiting the different facilities of the University and meeting the project staff. Tomorrow Thursday, will be held in the Faculty of Legal Sciences a meeting on postgraduate studies and transfer of results in the scope of the project (economy, management, legal aspects, governance,…) in which ECOBAS will be represented by its coordinator, Professor Carlos Hervés.
