Italian and Spanish experts meet in Vigo to analyze car industry during the X Spain-Italy Congress of Economic History
The tenth edition of the Spain-Italy Congress on Economic History was held last October 20th and 21st in the School of Economics and Business Administration. This meeting is organized biannually in different cities of both countries, and on this occasion made its stop in Vigo, under the coordination of ECOSOT professor Rafael Vallejo, and Professor Margarita Villar, from the University of A Coruña. The chosen subject for this edition was the car industry, a sector highly representative of the city and with a great importance in the Galician, national and world economy.
The inauguration ceremony counted on the participation of the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero; the dean of the Faculty, Santiago Gómez; the general coordinator of the congress, Giovanni Luigi Fontana; the communication director of the PSA group in Vigo, Pedro Hortas; and the coordinator of ECOBAS (sponsoring and collaborating entity), Carlos Hervés. During the two days, the different specialists delved into various topics related to the automobile industry, such as industrial policies or the particularities and history of companies as emblematic as Seat, Fiat or Volkswagen.
