Antón Costas will give a lecture in the School of Economics and Business Administration next December, 1st
Antón Costas is an important Galician economist born in Vigo, specialized in political economy. He is Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Barcelona and Chairman of the Observatory of Analysis and Evaluation of Public Policies of the same institution, and combines research with dissemination, participating as a columnist in El País, La Vanguardia or El Periódico de Cataluña, and collaborating as an expert for different radios and televisions such as La Ser, RTVE, Antena 3 or La Sexta. He has also written numerous books, the last one of which was published this year and titled Él final de él desconcierto. Un nuevo contrato social para que España funcione (Peninsula, 2017).
He has maintained an important link with the University of Vigo for many years, since before graduating in economics in Barcelona he obtained the title of industrial technical engineer in this University, and was the sponsor of the promotion of graduates in Economics in 2012. Taking advantage of his visit to attend another dissemination event in the city, he is coming to the School of Economics and Business Administration, invited by ECOBAS, to give the conference ‘Build a new social contract. Five proposals’, which can be freely accessed without prior registration.
